SPRING TRAINING @ MASH OF ST CLOUD

Sartell Swarm is offering preseason training this year in partnership with MASH of St Cloud on Sunday mornings in March and April from 9:00 am-12:00 pm.  Players need to register for each session separately.  Cost will be $20/session.

MASH Fastpitch training is for players looking to develop both on and off the field. We're working with MASH to offer our current and future players an opportunity to work out in a  positive environment to prepare for the upcoming association year. We will work on hitting,  fielding, throwing mechanics, and understanding routines. The coaching staff will prepare a curriculum each week that allows your athlete a consistent routine to get into shape and avoid injury by pacing your body to get ready.  Each session will have limited spots available and 3 MASH Coaches to provide guidance and allow for some 1 on 1 work.

Please be sure to bring appropriate equipment for each session - helmet, bat, glove, fielders mask, and clean dry tennis shoes.

Dates:

March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

April 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th

The 4 week progressive camp is a camp where each week will build on the previous week. Week 1 starts with basic fundamentals, mostly arm and wrist drills. Week 2 will focus on stance and arm path. Week 3 gets the legs involved and week 4 we put it all together and spend the hour just pitching. It is important that you can attend all sessions in order to get the full value of this series.

The individual clinics will focus on small changes/modifications that will assist your pitcher. We will not “break down” the pitching fundamentals as much as the series, rather we will watch your daughter pitch and “see what we are working with” and offer helpful tips.

Both clinics will include the use of video analysis and pitch speed timing.

Mental Health and Sports Meeting

Sartell Swarm is pleased to announce a unique opportunity for its 12U and older players.

A Mental Health and Sports meeting hosted by Elly Novak (Bio), College of Saint Benedict 2023 Communication major/Exercise and Health Science minor, is being offered at the College of St. Benedict.

When: Sunday, Dec. 11, from 4-6 pm.

Where: College of St. Benedict.

Your school years are some of the most fun and also overwhelming years of your life. Balancing your school work, your athletic commitments, as well as your home and personal life, can be nothing short of exhausting. Schools and at times family put a lot of pressure on students - those in sports can really struggle balancing school work and sports. There are ways students can balance the weight of it.

As each new sport season starts, how does the student athlete manage to achieve good grades and retain optimal performance on the playing field? The stress of doing well in a sport can easily override the necessity to do well in school. But this does not have to be the case for student athletes. Statistically, research indicates youth who participate in sports, whether school or community sports, perform better academically than children who do not participate in sports.

Please join us as we discuss tips and tricks we’ve used over the years to help balance our sport, social, and school lives.

The material is geared to players only. Parents are asked to not attend.
