Season Update from 5/22

SFSA Families,

The SFSA Board had a meeting last night to map out the summer season after the statement Governor Walz gave on Wednesday. The guidelines can be found at if you would like to read them. The following information is where our position is at this time.

The 6U and 8U seasons will be canceled. We feel, at this age, we are unable to safely follow the socal distancing guidelines. We are considering having a fun night in July for this age group if social distancing permits. Watch your emails for more details in July. All refunds for 6U/8U will be issued on June 1st. If you would like to donate your registration fee to SFSA please email Erica Frey,, before June 1st.

The Swarm Invitational Tournament in June, for 12U-18U, will be canceled. No tournaments will be played by any Sartell Swarm team in the month of June.

We are currently working on our safety plan that coordinates with the guidelines set forth by Governor Walz and the MDH. We are preparing for safety measures such as sanitizing products for each team and creating safety protocols.

In addition to our safety plan, we are waiting on word from the Sartell schools about use of the fields. We are also getting in touch with those parents/guardians who volunteered to coach to ensure that they are still interested in coaching with the new safety guidelines.

When we do start our season, we are requiring all players to have their own equipment. The players will need their own bat, helmet, fielding mask, and gloves. We may have equipment to use on a first come first serve basis. With that being said, we want you to be informed before you buy, that there is a possibility that there may not be a 10U season.

We understand that a timeline is not being stated at this moment. As soon as we have concrete information on things such as fields and coaches and we have access to safety items needed, we will be in contact with a better timeline. We ask that you all have patience as we get our plan in place.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have.
